Protect your eyes from digital eye strain
June 19, 2014
Digital screens of all types are a common tool in the workplace. That's why it's important to protect your eyes from digital eye strain. Here are some healthy habits to learn from the IU School of Optometry:
- Are your eyes red or bloodshot? Remember the 20/20/20 technique: Look at something 20 feet away, for 20 seconds, every 20 minutes.
- Do you suffer from irritated or dry eyes? Try to blink more often.
- Are you experiencing difficulty focusing or blurry vision? Position your computer at a distance where you can high-five your screen.
- Do you get headaches after prolonged screen usage? Adjust room lighting or screen brightness to reduce glare.
